At this year’s AGM, we were very sad to be saying goodbye to JPN board of trustees Kenneth Killeen and Claire Furlong, and founding Board member John Blandford, who have done amazing work with the Network.

We are very excited to invite  applications for new JPN charity trustees from within the membership and outside of JPN. We will be holding elections for these roles at a specially convened EGM on 1st December 2020 to allow plenty of time for you to prepare your submissions. You don’t have to be a current member of JPN to stand for a position on the board.

JPN has an ambitious outlook and becoming a member of the board of trustees is a way to shape and guide the network’s activities, as well as to influence the wider jazz sector. Board members support and advise the JPN’s staff, vote on decisions affecting the organisation and membership, represent the JPN publicly, attend monthly meetings, and help develop fresh ideas that can be turned into new projects and initiatives throughout a three year term. Becoming a board member is an excellent way to have a meaningful impact across the jazz sector, and we particularly welcome applications from individuals based in Ireland, Wales and Scotland as well as those from England.

As an organisation that represents everyone working within our section of the music industry, we encourage applications from women, disabled people and individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds. We would also encourage applications from those who have experience working as an artist manager, as a performing artist (with a wide perspective), educator, those working for a record label and any other background or genre within the music industry to help bring new perspectives and ideas to the table, in addition to those from jazz promoters.
